Skiing

One of the foremost reasons to come to Pocono is Skiing and considering its proximity to major roads and proximity to New York and Philadelphia, makes it easy for people coming from these places. The slopes are less busy on weekdays. Most Pocono ski facilities have built specifically constructed slopes for snowboarding, known as half-pipes which allow snowboarders to reach faster speed. Do you want to eat fruits and vegetables fresh from the farm? Check out the Pocono Farmstand farmers market and nursery, located just off Route 611 in Tannersville. The kids will love the petting zoo. In the winter, they offer the famous fresh hot fruit pies!

A nostalgic walk among quaint towns

Places like Stroudsburg, Jim Thorpe, Honesdale settlements have an old-world appearance and feel. Set against stunning mountains, the historic downtown sections are great for ambling around with shopping and dining thrown in, to get that feeling. There are also plenty of seasonal offers on winter activities, making it an ideal time to come.

Ride the sleigh with loved ones

The old time charm continues with a sleigh ride so take a look at - Daisy Field Farm is surrounded by its private farm and nature preserve. Seeing animals on their private farm is part of the experience because the owners do not allow hunting on their property. So sleigh riders can view wild deer and other wildlife.

Mountain Creek Stables offers horse-drawn sleigh rides, which are ideal for groups of up to 12 individuals. The sleigh ride takes guests through ancient Pocono Manor, providing views of snow-brushed cottages steeped in history.

Don’t let the snow keep you inside, go snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is hiking through the snow with your snowshoes strapped on the regular but hardy shoes. The Pocono Mountains span over 67,000 acres, giving many opportunities for snowshoeing in a tranquil setting. The Promised Land State Park and Delaware State forest have miles of trails that weave through gorgeous beech, oak, maple, and hemlock woods. Snowshoeing is authorized on all state forest roads and trails. Don’t forget to take your camera and binoculars to spot the fauna and amazing views on your trail.

Partake in Seasonal Celebrations

Thanksgiving has paved the way for Christmas and New Year celebrations- the streets are transformed with glittering lights and seasonal décor throughout the holiday season. All towns feature seasonal festivities for families that are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

A train ride through the snow

You may also combine seasonal festivities with some sightseeing by taking one of the region's winter rail trips. Riding through the Pocono Mountains with snow-covered mountains is a wonderful experience. The winter fest trains of the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway are expected to run for 70 minutes round trip. It is best to make a reservation ahead of time. For the duration of the ride, the train is heated and closed.Bring blankets, food, and beverages. Take in a breathtaking view of the state park and river. Along the railroad, you will find hikers, rafters, mountain bikers, and animals and also learn about the coal region's history.

Warm up with wine/Brewery trails

Experience the finest wineries, breweries, and distilleries in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains! A casino for the family!

The Casino, which is located in the Pocono Mountains, focuses on family-friendly entertainment. The entertainment center has a 1950s style malt shop and restaurant with dozens of Hershey's ice cream varieties and delicacies like handcrafted waffle cones, sundaes, malts, and egg cream. There is miniature golf and a restaurant too.

Pictures come to mind when you say the Poconos: hotel rooms like Fantasia II, racing, candle makers, and Christmas stores but check out the rappers, Groov-E and Mr Sex, who have been creating songs for 80 West Entertainment in the Menagerie, a horse farm recording studio. The name of the independent label is derived from the interstate highway that links New York to the Poconos.
